Projects

In his letter to the Romans Paul says “Brothers and sisters, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for the Israelites is that they may be saved.” And then he adds “... there is no difference between Jew and Gentile ...., for everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

CMJ Ireland wants to fulfil Paul’s desire for Jews and Gentiles and to do so we are working together with Jewish people and with others in several countries. Please help us to ensure that this co-operation is fruitful and pray for the projects listed below. If you wish, you may also help financially by sending donations to the address listed on the Contact page on this website.

Adult’s summer camp, Poland (001)

This camp is organised for older participants. These are Jewish people from the age of 50 up to the age of 80, many of whom are survivors of the Holocaust. There will be up to 80 campers. They come from Israel and Russia. The camp is taking place in the Polish Lake District; it is starting in late May and continues into early June. All staff are unpaid volunteers.

Children’s summer camp, Poland (002)

In July or August up to 50 Jewish youngsters will be coming to spend 10 days together at the camp in the Polish Lake District. These young people, aged 12 to 15, will be arriving from Israel and Russia and they are mainly from poor Jewish families. All staff are unpaid volunteers.

Sunshine School, Jerusalem (010)

This is a Christian nursery providing education for two to six year old children. The nursery is located in the Arab village of Beit Hanina just north of Jerusalem. The school serves mainly local Muslim and Christian Palestinians, but also children of expatriate families from many nations. While some families are able to contribute through paying fees, many are too poor to do so. The Sunshine School seriously struggles to meet all its running costs but no children are ever rejected on financial grounds. Many such local children have richly benefited from the education offered and been very blessed by the Christian teaching and nurture.
